Rhodes day 2

augustus 10, 2011

Tuesday.. we started our day at the beach near our hotel, Tholos beach. And after that we went to the town near our hotel, Paradeisi, for lunch. We both had the most delicious Greek salad mmm feta cheese (I must confess that I gave all my olives -except for the one I tried- to Britt). No matter how badly I want to like olives, I just don’t =(). It’s a very cute village but there’s not enough to see to fill a whole afternoon, so we went to Rhodes city again. We spent some more time at the beach there, had dinner and took an awesome boattrip at 10 p.m. which lasted for 30 minutes. We visited by boat all the lighted old buildings of the city, which was absolutely wonderful (but also hard to take good pictures of). It was all dark which made it very special and magical to be at the sea. After that we had a delicious Cosmopolitan at ‘2004’, I absolutely recommend it! When it was time to take the bus to our hotel we found out that the latest bus to our town departed at 23:30 instead of 01:00 as we expected.. oops. Some stressing moments and phonecalls later the extraordinary friendly people from our hotel offered to pick us up at the airport. They were really the sweetest! I love Greek people, they are so extremely kind and helpful =)

They were really the sweetest!

What’s in the pictures:
1: The way to Tholos beach. Dry ground, an old car and a beautiful blue sea on the background.
2: Me in bikini numero, by Hunkemöller. I wore this H&M scarf because I had a little sunburn from the day before.
3 and 4: Both Tholos beach. What we loved about it was that it was less crowded than e.g. Faliraki and Rhodes City beach and the sea was a little wilder.
5: I had some problems with the wind and my hair when we tried to take this picture 😉
6: Wind + hair again! Check out my arm party =)
7: Britt and me together, still at Tholos beach. There were a lot of beautiful rocks that were almost begging to be pictured there.
8: We bought our first two 5 ltrs of water. Stay hydrated! PS.. we had to carry it all the way back to the hotel, nice workout ghehe.
9: Lunch at Paradeisi, the delicious Greek salad with all the olives still in it..
10: Like I said: a very cute village.
11: Beautiful, beautiful flowers. We’ve seen a lot of them every day, but those were probably one of the prettiest. I really love its contrast with the white houses.
12: Paradeisi once again.
13: Very cosy restaurant in Rhodes city.
14: We were wandering around in town after sunset and suddenly discovered the small hidden streets, hidden for tourists. Really beautiful.
15: Together at the boat!
16: One of the old buildings seen from the boat.
17: There was a huge casino in Rhodes. And if I say huge, I really mean HUGE. It scared me a little, made me think of a mansion. There was a garden in front of it and some ‘scary’ music. Haha really made me think of a haunted house or something like that.
18:  Our cosmopolitans with firework in it!
19: Ehhh yeah.. me taking a sip haha. Charming, aren’t I?
